EMS: from fragmented tools to OEM-ready distributor operations
Electric Medical Service (EMS) is a leading professional service provider and distributor for GE HealthCare ultrasound systems, supporting hospitals and clinics across the region — an installed base of 4,000+ records, a team of 25+ sales and service professionals, and a long-standing GE HealthCare partnership.
Before Healtek
EMS ran on disconnected tools: a generic CRM for customer relationships, Excel spreadsheets for installed base tracking and service planning, manual preventive maintenance management, and fragmented documentation and service records. None of it reflected the operational reality of a medtech distributor.
The implementation
EMS implemented Healtek Medtech OS with both Service OS and Sales OS. Healtek's Installed Base Accelerator converted unstructured historical data — product models, serial numbers, customer records, historical service data, accessory information — into a structured, device-level installed base covering both primary devices and associated accessories.
The field team received modern service workflows: preventive maintenance scheduling and tracking, automated PM reminders and reporting, device-level service history, tablet-based workflows for field technicians, and one-click protocol generation. On the commercial side, Sales OS connected installed base intelligence to opportunity management — structured deals, lifecycle governance, and a unified timeline of service history and sales opportunities.
The GE HealthCare connection
Opportunity data managed in Healtek exports in a structured format compatible with GE HealthCare systems — flowing from Healtek Sales OS via secure transfer into the GEHC integration environment. EMS operates as an OEM-ready distributor without forcing its team into OEM tooling.
The result
A unified operational platform for service and sales: a structured installed base of more than 4,000 records, automated preventive maintenance planning, tablet-based technician workflows, connected sales and service operations, and the consolidation of legacy tools and spreadsheets.
From production to patient: the same chain now continues to the hospital floor, where doctors reach each EMS-serviced device through the QR Service Portal.
